Create a record in Airtable when a payment lands in Square

When a payment lands in Square, create a record in Airtable.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

A payment lands in Square, within 5 minutes

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A payment lands
A payment completed at the account’s default location (in person, online or on an invoice), checked every 5 minutes; once per payment. The token needs PAYMENTS_READ.
Create a record
Add one row to a table. Field names must match the table’s columns.

  2. App stepCreate a record

What each client fills in

Airtable: Base ID
From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…
Airtable: Table
For example Leads

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • Square

developer.squareup.com → the client’s application (their own account) → Credentials → Production access token. A personal access token for the client’s own account needs no Square review.

  • Airtable

airtable.com/create/tokens → Create token → scopes data.records:write and data.records:read (lookups and the triggers) → add the client’s base → copy the token.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Square, for “A payment lands”
  2. Connect the client’s Airtable, for “Create a record”
  3. Fill in Airtable: Base ID (From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…)
  4. Fill in Airtable: Table (For example Leads)
  5. Match Airtable’s fields to the client’s own: Amount in cents, Currency, Total in cents, Status

Thrum is cooking.

Get early access and you’ll be among the first in. Early members get a launch perk.
