Client invoices
BetaGet paid for every text your clients’ workflows send.
Every text and email a client’s workflows send is recorded with your markup. Once a month each client gets an invoice for them, created and sent from your own Stripe account.
Your client pays you directly. The money never passes through Thrum, and we take no cut.
Thrum opens soon. Sign up now and you’ll be among the first in.

Set it up once per client
01
Add a restricted key
A Stripe restricted key with access to invoices and customers. A full secret key is refused, and the key is stored encrypted and never shown again.
02
Turn billing on for a client
Who the invoice is made out to, where it goes, days to pay, and whether it sends itself on the 1st or waits for you to press Bill.
03
The month bills itself
Shortly after a month ends, each client’s invoice is made from what their workflows sent, and Stripe emails it from your account.
The invoice
Lines your client can check, adding up to the cent.
Each line says how many and at what price: “Text messages, September 2026: 60 sent, 100 segments at $0.0233 per segment”. A long text is billed by segment, as Twilio bills it.
The lines add up exactly to the total, and a month too small for Stripe’s minimum is carried to the next invoice. Nothing is dropped and nothing is billed twice.

What your client sees
An invoice from you, and a link to pay it.
The invoice comes from your Stripe account, with your name and logo from Stripe’s branding settings. Nothing on it names Thrum.
In their portal, each month shows the texts and emails sent for them, and once the invoice is made, a link to view and pay it.

Questions about client invoices
Does the money go through you?
No. The invoice is created in your Stripe account and your client pays you there. It is not Stripe Connect: Thrum never holds your client’s money and takes nothing from it.
What does it bill?
The texts and emails each client’s workflows sent in the month, at the reference cost plus the markup you set. A fixed monthly fee or retainer is not a line on it yet, and it bills in US dollars.
Can I check an invoice before it goes?
Yes. Turn off sending by itself for that client, and nothing goes until you press Bill for the month.
Could a client be billed twice?
No. Each client has at most one invoice a month, and every call to Stripe carries its own key, so a run that stops half-way picks up where it was. A send that gets no answer is marked “maybe sent” and never retried by itself: you check Stripe and say whether it went.
What if Stripe refuses my key?
Nothing is sent, you are emailed once, and the client’s row says what to check. Usage keeps being recorded all month either way.
Is it for my client’s own customers too?
No. Their customers pay through the client’s own Stripe, in Payments.
What does Beta mean?
Beta means the module is built and tested, and hasn’t yet run against the live service it depends on, such as Stripe or Twilio. The tag comes off once it has.
