Airtable

Create a record in Airtable when a row is added to a database in Notion

When a row is added to a database in Notion, create a record in Airtable.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A row is added to a database
A new page in a database, checked every 15 minutes. The integration must be connected to the database (••• → Connections).
Create a record
Add one row to a table. Field names must match the table’s columns.

  2. App stepCreate a record

What each client fills in

Airtable: Base ID
From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…
Airtable: Table
For example Leads
Notion: Data source ID
For example the database’s settings → Manage data sources → Copy data source ID

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • notion.so/profile/integrations → New integration (Internal) in the client’s workspace → Capabilities: Read content, Insert content and Update content (the row update needs the last) → copy the secret. Then open the database → ••• → Connections → add the integration.

  • Airtable

airtable.com/create/tokens → Create token → scopes data.records:write and data.records:read (lookups and the triggers) → add the client’s base → copy the token.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Notion, for “A row is added to a database”
  2. Connect the client’s Airtable, for “Create a record”
  3. Fill in Notion: Data source ID (For example the database’s settings → Manage data sources → Copy data source ID)
  4. Fill in Airtable: Base ID (From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…)
  5. Fill in Airtable: Table (For example Leads)
  6. Match Airtable’s fields to the client’s own: Page link, Added at, Last edited at
