Add a database row in Notion when a subscriber’s details change in Mailchimp
When a subscriber’s details change in Mailchimp, add a database row in Notion.
Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.
Every step, in order
When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.
- A subscriber’s details change
- A member of an audience changed (their details, tags, or unsubscribed), checked every 15 minutes.
- Add a database row
- A new page in a database, with its title set. Other properties are typed in Notion; set them there with defaults.
- Starts whenA subscriber’s details change
- App stepAdd a database row
What each client fills in
- Notion: Database ID
- For example the 32 characters in the database URL
- Notion: Title column
- For example Name
- Mailchimp: Audience ID
- Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults: the Audience ID.
The accounts it needs
Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.
In the client’s Mailchimp: Profile → Extras → API keys → Create A Key. The server prefix is the part after the dash (us21).
notion.so/profile/integrations → New integration (Internal) in the client’s workspace → Capabilities: Read content, Insert content and Update content (the row update needs the last) → copy the secret. Then open the database → ••• → Connections → add the integration.
After you install it
It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:
- Connect the client’s Mailchimp, for “A subscriber’s details change”
- Connect the client’s Notion, for “Add a database row”
- Fill in Mailchimp: Audience ID (Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults: the Audience ID)
- Fill in Notion: Database ID (For example the 32 characters in the database URL)
- Fill in Notion: Title column (For example Name)
