UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A subscriber’s details change
A member of an audience changed (their details, tags, or unsubscribed), checked every 15 minutes.
Create a record
Add one row to a table. Field names must match the table’s columns.

What each client fills in

Airtable: Base ID
From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…
Airtable: Table
For example Leads
Mailchimp: Audience ID
Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults: the Audience ID.

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Mailchimp: Profile → Extras → API keys → Create A Key. The server prefix is the part after the dash (us21).

  • Airtable

airtable.com/create/tokens → Create token → scopes data.records:write and data.records:read (lookups and the triggers) → add the client’s base → copy the token.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Mailchimp, for “A subscriber’s details change”
  2. Connect the client’s Airtable, for “Create a record”
  3. Fill in Mailchimp: Audience ID (Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults: the Audience ID)
  4. Fill in Airtable: Base ID (From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…)
  5. Fill in Airtable: Table (For example Leads)
  6. Match Airtable’s fields to the client’s own: Their email, Their name, Status, Opted in at
