Create a task in Asana when an issue is opened in Linear

When an issue is opened in Linear, create a task in Asana.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

An issue is opened
A new issue in a team, within seconds.
Create a task
A task in a project.
  1. Starts whenAn issue is opened
  2. App stepNamed after the issue

What each client fills in

Asana: Project ID
For example the number in the project’s URL
Linear: Team ID
Webhooks can be made only with an admin’s API key.

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Linear: Settings → Security & access → Personal API keys → New API key. The triggers make webhooks, which needs a workspace admin’s key.

  • app.asana.com/0/my-apps → Create new token (signed in to the client’s Asana).

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Linear, for “An issue is opened”
  2. Connect the client’s Asana, for “Create a task”
  3. Fill in Linear: Team ID (Webhooks can be made only with an admin’s API key)
  4. Fill in Asana: Project ID (For example the number in the project’s URL)

Thrum is cooking.

Get early access and you’ll be among the first in. Early members get a launch perk.
