Create a task in Asana when a new contact is added in Intercom

When a new contact is added in Intercom, create a task in Asana.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A new contact is added
A lead or user created in Intercom (a chat, a form, an import), checked every 5 minutes.
Create a task
A task in a project.
  1. Starts whenA new contact is added
  2. App stepNamed after the contact

What each client fills in

Asana: Project ID
For example the number in the project’s URL

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Intercom: Settings → Integrations → Developer Hub → New app (for their own workspace, no review) → Authentication → copy the access token. The conversation trigger needs the app to be allowed to read conversations.

  • app.asana.com/0/my-apps → Create new token (signed in to the client’s Asana).

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Intercom, for “A new contact is added”
  2. Connect the client’s Asana, for “Create a task”
  3. Fill in Asana: Project ID (For example the number in the project’s URL)

Thrum is cooking.

Get early access and you’ll be among the first in. Early members get a launch perk.
