Add or update a contact in ActiveCampaign when a new contact is added in Intercom

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

A new contact is added in Intercom, within 5 minutes

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A new contact is added
A lead or user created in Intercom (a chat, a form, an import), checked every 5 minutes.
Add or update a contact
Creates the contact, or updates the one with this email.

What each client fills in

Nothing. It needs only the accounts it connects to.

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Intercom: Settings → Integrations → Developer Hub → New app (for their own workspace, no review) → Authentication → copy the access token. The conversation trigger needs the app to be allowed to read conversations.

  • ActiveCampaign

In the client’s ActiveCampaign: Settings → Developer → copy the URL and the Key.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Intercom, for “A new contact is added”
  2. Connect the client’s ActiveCampaign, for “Add or update a contact”

Thrum is cooking.

Get early access and you’ll be among the first in. Early members get a launch perk.
