Create a record in Airtable when an opportunity changes status in Close

When an opportunity changes status in Close, create a record in Airtable.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

An opportunity changes status in Close, within seconds

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

An opportunity changes status
An opportunity moves to another status (won, lost, or one of yours), within seconds.
Create a record
Add one row to a table. Field names must match the table’s columns.

  2. App stepCreate a record

What each client fills in

Airtable: Base ID
From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…
Airtable: Table
For example Leads

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • Close

In the client’s Close: Settings → Developer → API Keys → Create API Key.

  • Airtable

airtable.com/create/tokens → Create token → scopes data.records:write and data.records:read (lookups and the triggers) → add the client’s base → copy the token.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Close, for “An opportunity changes status”
  2. Connect the client’s Airtable, for “Create a record”
  3. Fill in Airtable: Base ID (From the base’s URL: airtable.com/appXXXX/…)
  4. Fill in Airtable: Table (For example Leads)
  5. Match Airtable’s fields to the client’s own: New status, Status type won lost active, Old status, Lead

Thrum is cooking.
