Send an email in Postmark when a ticket is opened in Zendesk

When a ticket is opened in Zendesk, send an email in Postmark.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A ticket is opened
A new ticket, within seconds. Webhooks are made with an admin’s token. The requester’s name and email are not in the event: find the user by the requester ID in a step.
Send an email
Plain-text email from a verified sender.

What each client fills in

Postmark: From
For example Northside Plumbing <hello@northside.example>
Who it goes to (Postmark)
The address that gets it: yours, or the client’s team.

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Zendesk: Admin Center → Apps and integrations → APIs → Zendesk API → enable Token access → Add API token. The triggers make webhooks, which needs an admin’s email and token.

  • Postmark → the client’s server → API Tokens → copy the Server API token. The From address must be a confirmed sender signature or on a verified domain.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Zendesk, for “A ticket is opened”
  2. Connect the client’s Postmark, for “Send an email”
  3. Fill in Postmark: From (For example Northside Plumbing <hello@northside.example>)
  4. Fill in Who it goes to (Postmark) (The address that gets it: yours, or the client’s team)
