Create an item in monday.com when a new conversation comes in to Intercom
When a new conversation comes in to Intercom, create an item in monday.com.
Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.
Every step, in order
When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.
- A new conversation comes in
- A conversation started (a chat, an email), checked every 5 minutes.
- Create an item
- An item on a board, named. Columns are set on the board’s defaults.
- Starts whenA new conversation comes in
- App stepNamed after the conversation
What each client fills in
- monday.com: Board ID
- For example the number in the board’s URL
The accounts it needs
Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.
In the client’s Intercom: Settings → Integrations → Developer Hub → New app (for their own workspace, no review) → Authentication → copy the access token. The conversation trigger needs the app to be allowed to read conversations.
In the client’s monday.com: avatar → Developers → My access tokens → Show → copy.
After you install it
It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:
- Connect the client’s Intercom, for “A new conversation comes in”
- Connect the client’s monday.com, for “Create an item”
- Fill in monday.com: Board ID (For example the number in the board’s URL)
