Google Sheets

Add a row in Google Sheets when a deal moves to a stage in HubSpot

When a deal moves to a stage in HubSpot, add a row in Google Sheets.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

A deal moves to a stage in HubSpot, within 5 minutes

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A deal moves to a stage
Checked every 5 minutes: a HubSpot private app cannot register a webhook. The token needs crm.objects.deals.read.
Add a row
Add a row at the bottom of a sheet, one value per column, left to right.

What each client fills in

Google Sheets: Spreadsheet ID
For example from the URL: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/<this>/edit
Google Sheets: Sheet (tab)
For example Sheet1
HubSpot: Stage ID
Settings → Objects → Deals → Pipelines: the stage’s internal ID (closedwon, appointmentscheduled, or a number).

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s HubSpot: Settings → Integrations → Private Apps (Legacy apps) → Create → scopes crm.objects.contacts.write, and for the triggers crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.deals.read and tickets → copy the access token. A private app needs no HubSpot review.

  • Google Sheets

In your own Google Cloud project: enable the Google Sheets API, then IAM & Admin → Service accounts → Create → Keys → Add key → JSON, and paste the file here. Then share each client sheet with the service account’s email (…@….iam.gserviceaccount.com) as an Editor. The account is yours; no Google review is needed.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s HubSpot, for “A deal moves to a stage”
  2. Connect the client’s Google Sheets, for “Add a row”
  3. Fill in HubSpot: Stage ID (Settings → Objects → Deals → Pipelines: the stage’s internal ID (closedwon, appointmentscheduled, or a number))
  4. Fill in Google Sheets: Spreadsheet ID (For example from the URL: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/<this>/edit)
  5. Fill in Google Sheets: Sheet (tab) (For example Sheet1)
  6. Check the order of Google Sheets’s values, column by column against the client’s columns

Thrum is cooking.
