Post a message in Slack when a ticket is opened in Freshdesk

When a ticket is opened in Freshdesk, post a message in Slack.

Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.

UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A ticket is opened
A new ticket, checked every 5 minutes.
Post a message
Post to a channel the app has been invited to.

What each client fills in

Slack: Channel
For example #leads or C0123456789

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s Freshdesk: profile picture → Profile settings → View API key.

  • In the client’s Slack: api.slack.com/apps → Create New App → OAuth & Permissions → add the chat:write scope (and channels:history, plus groups:history for a private channel, for the message trigger) → Install to Workspace → copy the Bot User OAuth Token. Invite the app to the channel.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s Freshdesk, for “A ticket is opened”
  2. Connect the client’s Slack, for “Post a message”
  3. Fill in Slack: Channel (For example #leads or C0123456789)

Thrum is cooking.
