UsesBeta

Every step, in order

When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.

A task changes status
A task in a list moves to another status, within seconds. The Workspace ID is the first number in any ClickUp link.
Post a message
Post to a channel the app has been invited to.

What each client fills in

Slack: Channel
For example #leads or C0123456789
ClickUp: Workspace ID
For example 9012345678
ClickUp: List ID
For example the number in the list’s URL

The accounts it needs

Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.

  • In the client’s ClickUp: avatar → Settings → Apps → API Token → Generate.

  • In the client’s Slack: api.slack.com/apps → Create New App → OAuth & Permissions → add the chat:write scope (and channels:history, plus groups:history for a private channel, for the message trigger) → Install to Workspace → copy the Bot User OAuth Token. Invite the app to the channel.

After you install it

It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:

  1. Connect the client’s ClickUp, for “A task changes status”
  2. Connect the client’s Slack, for “Post a message”
  3. Fill in ClickUp: Workspace ID (For example 9012345678)
  4. Fill in ClickUp: List ID (For example the number in the list’s URL)
  5. Fill in Slack: Channel (For example #leads or C0123456789)
