TelegramSend a message in Telegram when a task is completed in Asana
When a task is completed in Asana, send a message in Telegram.
Start the 14-day trial, then find it under Templates → Library. It installs into the client you choose, switched off, with its checklist.
Every step, in order
When it happens in the first app, the step runs in the second, with the client’s own account.
- A task is completed
- A task in a project marked complete, checked every 5 minutes; once per task.
- Send a message
- Message a chat, group or channel the bot is in.
- Starts whenA task is completed
- App stepSend a messageTelegram
What each client fills in
- Telegram: Chat ID
- For example -1001234567890 or @channel
- Asana: Project ID
- For example the number after /project/ in the link
The accounts it needs
Each is the client’s own, stored encrypted and never copied between clients. Until one is added the client’s checklist shows it, and nothing runs.
app.asana.com/0/my-apps → Create new token (signed in to the client’s Asana).
In Telegram, message @BotFather → /newbot → copy the token. Add the bot to the client’s group, or have the client message it once.
After you install it
It lands switched off. The client’s checklist holds exactly this:
- Connect the client’s Asana, for “A task is completed”
- Connect the client’s Telegram, for “Send a message”
- Fill in Asana: Project ID (For example the number after /project/ in the link)
- Fill in Telegram: Chat ID (For example -1001234567890 or @channel)
